My Background

I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University in BC, Canada, as well as a Master’s Degree of Science in Psychology from Montfort College in India, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Jain University in India. My therapeutic approach is grounded in a holistic and collaborative manner. I firmly believe that every individual possesses the capacity to heal and grow. Therefore, I provide my clients with unwavering support and guidance, helping them access and trust their inner wisdom. This process allows them to gain clarity regarding their challenges and refine their sense of purpose and direction.

I am dedicated to equipping my clients with research-based tools that empower them to achieve their goals. By offering practical strategies, I ensure that my clients have something tangible to take home and practice in their daily lives. While each person’s struggles are unique, we all share a common desire to establish deeper connections with ourselves and others, as well as to live more fully in the present. Through effective counseling, I believe clients can gain profound insights, establish meaningful connections, and free themselves from personal challenges, ultimately leading to more fulfilling lives.

Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse populations and recognize the significant impact of culture on our worldview and the distinct challenges we encounter. For instance, mental health problems are often misunderstood by those closest to us, making it difficult to seek help. If you find yourself in this situation, I am thrilled that you are considering therapy and taking the time to read my bio. I want to assure you that I strive to create an inclusive and safe space for all my clients, where we can openly discuss issues related to race, culture, and discrimination without judgment. Trust is the foundation of a productive and successful counselling relationship, which is why I am committed to fostering an environment of unconditional acceptance for each of my clients, regardless of their individual circumstances.

Counselling Approach

In my practice, I firmly believe in providing clients with a safe and non-judgmental space where they can freely explore and discuss their thoughts and emotions. My counseling approach is centered around focusing on clients’ strengths and being sensitive to the impact of trauma. Rather than solely identifying areas for improvement, I help clients recognize their existing strengths and accomplishments. It is crucial to identify the most effective tools and gain insight into what works best for each individual, acknowledging their internal resources and abilities to achieve their desired outcomes in therapy.

I have extensive experience working with individuals who have encountered trauma, and I am acutely aware of how past or ongoing traumatic experiences can affect their lives. If trauma emerges during our sessions, we will utilize research-supported counseling techniques to help you navigate and overcome these traumas at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I am well-versed in various counseling modalities, including Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. These approaches have proven to be effective in helping clients achieve their personal goals. During sessions, I incorporate practices such as mindfulness and grounding exercises to assist clients in regulating challenging emotions that may arise both within and outside of our meetings. These tools have shown great efficacy in helping clients overcome personal struggles such as grief, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and family conflicts. I have witnessed these practices empowering clients, enabling them to create meaningful changes in their lives. Whether you seek to transform or redefine your life, or simply require support during a difficult period, I encourage you to engage in counselling. Through this process, you can develop a deeper understanding of yourself, acquire the necessary tools to move forward, and receive the support needed to embark on your healing journey.

Counselling Can Help

There is clear proof that counselling, when skillfully done, can provide the effective tools to speed up the healing process and prevent concerns from re-emerging. Counselling is the professional approach to seek when you’re ready to make a change. Through my practical experiences and work as a counsellor, I’ve come to believe that people have the answers to their personal struggles within themselves. During the process of counselling, research shows that strategies and answers can be uncovered so people learn how to live stronger, more resilient lives.
