Flat fee, single 6-hour session
A single, in-person, 6-hour intensive session with scheduled breaks, in place of a recurring weekly format.

Direct Billing for Extended Health Care Plans
Session rates align with the recommended fee guidelines set by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), the BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW), the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA). Counselling and psychotherapy at Counsel Me Vancouver is provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) and Registered Social Workers (RSWs).
Extended health benefits plans, provided by companies such as Manulife, Desjardins, Green Shield Canada, Pacific Blue Cross, Sunlife, Canada Life, and others, frequently cover counselling and psychotherapy delivered by an RCC or RSW. With direct billing, Counsel Me Vancouver submits a session claim directly to the insurer, so payment at the time of the session is limited to any portion the plan does not cover, rather than paying in full and waiting for reimbursement.
How Direct Billing Works

Confirm counselling or psychotherapy coverage directly with the insurance provider before the first session, including per-session and annual limits, eligible provider types (RCC or RSW), and any co-pay or deductible.

Share the insurer's name, policy number, and membership or certificate ID during intake, or by emailing erica@counselmevancouver.com.
- 03Sessions Are Billed Directly
Counsel Me Vancouver submits the claim to the insurer after each session. Any required co-pay is confirmed and arranged directly with the client.
While most insurers support direct billing for counselling and psychotherapy, some plans, including Pacific Blue Cross and Canada Life, do not permit Counsel Me Vancouver to bill on a client's behalf for every provider type. These plans still cover services provided by an RCC or RSW; payment is made upfront and a receipt is submitted to the insurer for reimbursement. The full list of insurance providers below lists RCC and RSW coverage and direct billing availability individually for each provider.
Payment for a session not covered by direct billing is accepted by credit card, e-transfer, cheque, or cash, payable at the beginning or end of the session. Sessions are payable individually, or as a prepaid session package.

Sliding scale rates are available in some circumstances based on individual financial need. This option is discussed directly with a counsellor, either during the free consultation or at the start of a course of counselling.

Two complimentary, 15 to 20 minute consultation options are available before committing to ongoing sessions: a phone consultation, covering concerns, scheduling, and fees; and a virtual therapist consultation, meeting a specific therapist directly to ask questions and assess fit.
